Where is a good place to buy large canvas panels and stretched canvas?
I usually buy from aswexpress and they are pretty cheap. But this time I need a couple maybe 35x35 or 40x40" ones. Is there a certain type,brand, or size that is cheaper to purchase?
I am an amateur oil painter and I am not really sure about stretching them myself. Any help would be well appreciated.
I usually work with 18x24 but I wanna do something big for a competition.
If you have a Blick art materials near by, They just started their big Back to school sale. They only do this twice a year. This is when everyone stocks up on canvas. I don't think they do it on the website. It's just in the stores, but it's definitely the best prices around, and the more you buy, the cheaper they get. They have more sizes and grades of canvas than anyone. Here's a link to their site. See if there's one near you. http://www.dickblick.com/ They may have the same sale on their site (I haven't checked) but then you'll have to pay for shipping, and that always sucks.
