How do you revarnish a tiny section of hardwood flooring?
I spilled one of those oil reed diffusers onto my hardwood floor and it completely removed the varnish from the wood! I had no idea the oil was so corrosive on those things!
I rent so obviously I don't want to lose my security deposit, but I don't know how to refinish splatter-like pieces of wood.
Does anyone know how to do this? Is it as simple as sanding out the damaged areas and revarnishing? Any help would be appreciated!
Unfortunately, unless you have experience, you may end up doing more damage so tread carefully. The biggest problem will be trying to match the shading. If the floor is a light shade it won't be as much of a problem and a light sanding and clear varnish might do the trick. DO NOT OVER SAND. Use a 240 grit or higher.
