What was the meaning of the "red" parts in the black and white movie Schindler's List?
In one or two parts, there was a small portion of the color of red. Like a little girl with a red dress on.
the only person or thing in the whole movie with actual color, that single color being red, was the little girl with a red dress. i think Spielberg did this mainly to accomplish a greater sense of sympathy from his audience. also, possibly to point out that anyone can become a victim, even an innocent little girl. the first instance of her, she was shown running solo through the streets while the Germans "cleared out" the ghetto. this obviously means that she was separated from her parents or they were killed. the second instance of her, she was seen dead in a huge pile of bodies yet stood out due to her red dress. this was an excellent film that succeeds on showing the extreme hardships the Jewish people had to endure and not to mention how evil humans can become. hope this helps!
