Biggest suprise of the NHL season?
In your opinion what has been the biggest suprise in this NHL season? Please give me one suprise from the east and one from the west. My biggest suprise from the East is the Buffalo Sabres looking into the playoff picture, sitting in 9th place. I thought they would at least be a comfy 5th position this year. My suprise from the West is how well Phoenix has done with the talent (or lack there of) that the team has. No one expected Phoenix to almost be in a playoff spot.
The biggest surprise of the year by far is the Capitals going from worst in the whole league to being a playoff contender under Bruce Bodreau(sp? french names...I always botch the spelling). What a hell of a turn around. This shortly leads Ottawas meltdown by just a bit.
I would say for the West it would be the comeback of Forsberg just in time for the playoff push, but I agree with the Pheonix assessment as well.
