Should Man Utd make a move for Given or invest in a young unproven goal keeper?
With Van de Sar retiring soon, should Man Utd go for a proven premier league veteran like Given or go for unproven potential like De Gea or Loris? When Van de Sar eventually retires are we gonna go through another Bosnich-Carrol period again?
Lloris isn't unproven, he's already pure class. I don't think a young keeper like De Gea would be a smart move, he has some real potential for the future but I don't think he's the right choice as an immediate replace for VDS. Just look at the 21 year old Sergio Asenjo who was first choice at Atletico before De Gea and was talked up just as much as him but he later lost his place to De Gea after making a few bad errors. I think a goalkeeper who has enough years experience in a first team would be the way to go, players like Lloris, Akinfeev and Neuer would be the top options for me as all have had many strong seasons at their clubs and have represented their countries at an international level and are still relevently young for goalkeepers.
