Exactely what does your conference table say about your company?
A conference table is one of the most important pieces of furniture in any company or business. Today, conference tables go beyond serving the purpose of holding meetings and presentations. Conference tables are available in different sizes and shapes. But among the types of such tables, round conference tables are a popular choice and the most ideal for small rooms, foyers or offices.
The function is just as important as appearance. The nature and character of your boardroom will largely depend on the shape of your conference table. If you want to forego the tradition of a long table but you want to keep things simple and functional, then choose conference tables that are circular or oval. Round tables can help create an intimate atmosphere in the room so that everyone in attendance feels comfortable and free to participate in the discussion with equality.
Many different finishes are available from timber to colored or even patterned for informal areas, cherry and pewter that are appealing for any professional setting, oak and mahogany for a more formal setting. Circular conference tables normally comfortably seat up to four people. You can choose these for individual office spaces and for impromptu or private meetings. Round tables are also very versatile as you can place them in reception areas in semi permanent positions and then transfer them easily and quickly to a more private position for business discussions with visitors or staff.
Most conference tables are made of hardwood or veneer finish and selection of type is important as they must complement décor. Any table should enhance an area, not contrast. A wooden circular conference table can help create a classic yet very elegant ambience in a conference room, and a piece of timber furniture induces a serious professional appearance in an office or conference room. Some of the most beautifully crafted round wooden conference tables are available in vast range of variety. They can be cherry, honey cherry, mahogany, and natural pine wood veneer conference tables that exhibit unique wood grain patterns.
Round tables often have an X-type base, which are specially designed to make to make it look durable and stable. The in-between angles of the X-type base of a round conference table appropriately apportion sufficient spaces to accommodate four executive chairs. Each angled ample compartment will allow anyone seated at the table room to move comfortably.
In choosing the right type of a circular conference table, you also need to take into account several factors. Glass top tables, whether clear or frosted, can look contemporary and modern but, unless the table is for boardroom type conferences only, a glass top conference table may turn out to be more of a problem than a help. Cold to lean upon, every mark obvious and care must be taken that the edges don't get chipped or, unlike a timber or veneer table that can be repaired, out into the junk goes the glass top.
Most timber tables these days have a strong polyurethane finish so top protection is not a problem.
