Seems difficult because of all the extra unneeded numbers. All you need is "3e5 cubic yrds of dirt was removed" and "10 acres"
I hate english units. 10 acres = 48400 square yards.
So you have a volume and and area. divide to get the depth
3e5 cubic yrds / 48400 square yards = 6.2 yards
