Toad Lily
Her pulsing limb of burgundy stalk,
Blushing red and lustrous green.
Plump petals of ivory chalk,
On a tangle of thorns her heart will lean.
Speckles of pink, so deep, do lie,
On the circlet of an alabaster sheen.
Flecked with the darkened, whispering sigh,
The garden's princess- her flesh serene.
The forked cross are her fingers flexed,
Glittering dew to imbue her mouth.
Her stamen's birth is her mind perplexed,
The gushing wind is the heart of the south.
The crown of pollen is her wedding ring,
Given from the neighbouring bud.
Her heart is set in the clutch of a king,
The curl of a petal, with beating stud.

Damn good. I'm normally very critical of poetry but I would not say anything about this because nurturing your fertile muse and encouraging such genuine passion is far more important and useful than any petty critiques or hairsplitting over minor technicalities would be. Don't listen to the others, they are jealous. Your youthful spunk will temper with time and people will be more willing to accept such brilliance from an older person. You've got talent which means you have to work twice as hard as everyone else. don't ever listen to critics, they're just frustrated artists that weren't willing to bare their souls and are now embittered for it.
