Why does my cat prefers the pool water to fresh water, I give him?
I watched a few similar questions by others, but yahoo'ers were slightly different. My cat a Turkish Van cross angora, she is 2 years and prefers literallly water from the pool of fresh water I give him. Now that our engine burned pools, the pool is beginning to be all green and Mucky, We have a pool cover temporary, but because she did not mind swimiing she jumps and detaches from the abit cover drinks, then out of it ... Does anyone know why cats prefer salt chlorinated water over fresh water ... I change the water every day and most days more than 3 or 4 times ... when I can I'm going away, but I do it the more it seems to want to drink .. . anyone? thank you in advance God bless
It could be the dish of water you use. Some plastics and metals give off a strange smell or taste for cats. Try switching, use a ceramic dish or glass. Or filter tap water and let sit for a day or two before giving it to her.
